Holtman Systems Research is a small European company, founded in November 2022 by Koen Holtman. It is currently operating as a single-person company.
Koen Holtman is a systems architect currently working as an independent AI safety researcher. He has a PhD in Software Design from Eindhoven University of Technology, for computer science research he did at CERN in Switzerland. He has 20 years of experience in industrial R&D and 10 years of experience in standards creation. He has made contributions to several technical standards, most notably the standards defining the HTTP/1.1 protocol and the Blu-ray Disk system, and the upcoming CEN-CENELEC JTC21 AI safety standards in support of the EU AI Act. He currently lives in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
